Hi again, I going to talk about a person/expert on my
field, I knew about him in psychology class and he is Max Horkheimer. Actually I don´t admire him, he's obviously an
intelligent person, but I don´t know much about him or his work as to say that.
However, I going to write a little about him.
Horkheimer was born in Germany on 1895 in a Jewish family. He was a philosopher
and sociologist, and in 1930 he became part of Frankfurt
school. He is known because of his work on critical theory of this school. In
Frankfurt he met Theodor Adorno and together write “The
Dialectic of Enlightenment” (1947), one of their most important works. Another of his most
important work was “The Eclipse of Reason” (1947) and “Between
Philosophy and Social Science" (1930–1938).
He died in
Nuremberg on 1973, but he left a legacy, the critical theory, and according to
Larry Ray it has "become one of the most influential social
theories of the twentieth century”.
I think Horkheimer's theories, and critical theory on general, is very interesting
ResponderEliminarI like Horkheimer too, but I prefer Adorno :)
ResponderEliminarInteresting, I'm going to investigate more from him, I just investigate Adorno
