Finally the last blog!!

Hi classmates, this is the last blog of this semester  and I`m going to tell you how was my expierence writing the blogs.

I am almost sure that I never wrote in english more than a few words, so at firts it was difficult to me, beside there were many things I did not know about gramar. Today I think that writting blogs is a little easier, but I still have some complications. I think that the difficulty depends on the topic.

Every week I read the comments of my classmates, also my professor comments. The majority of the comments did not matter in my improvement, some of the professor's comments were useful, for example, I used to write “i” instead of “I” and the professor corrected me that and now I never forget that.

I don`t know what else we could write, maybe, as we write every week, we could write about what we do during the week. But I don`t know, there are a lot of topics to write about.

I realy feel that now I`m better writing blogs, but that`s what I feel, I don`t know if this is true and the only way to know this is that the profesor evaluates me with a 7. jejeje

My big dreams

Hi friends again, todays I’m going to talk about the topic: My big dream in life.

I am not completely sure of which is my dream in life, that`s because I think that I don`t have one in specific, but I think that I probably have two, which I remember at this moment. One of those I would like to do by my own, but for the other one we have to do it with very much people.

One of these has a personal nature; I would like to travel around the world, to visit multiply countries to know the place and the landscapes, also I would like to do that because I would like to know different cultures and many persons.  In relation to this, I think that it is not possible to realize it, because I don`t have enough time, neither money and I really don`t know if someday I will have some of those. But I will try, with all my heart, to visit many countries as I can.

My second dream is, though it`s the last year of my life, to live in a socialist world. I know this is a slow process, but I believe or rather I know that this is totally possible and I am going to do everything I can to help to that happens.

My sad life after the strike

Hi friends, today I going to talk about how I feel right now, which is related to what I did during the strike, actually what I did not.

Every week I thought: this week I will read, I don´t know, for example two texts at day. As the weeks were passing my thinking was changing, it was no longer “I will read”, it was “I have to read” or “I have to read the texts or I will die”.

Anyway, I came back to class and I read a minimum of texts, so I´m totally stressed and I regret for not reading during the strike, especially for not read History (there are many many texts :c).

But it doesn´t matter, I trust in myself and in my abilities, so I´m sure that I will pass all my courses with good grades, but it doesn´t mean that I will be stressed until the exams finish.

Well, that´s my sad story, so if you have a summary of the texts please give them to me (jejeje) and I give mine to you.

An expert on my field

Hi again, I going to talk about a person/expert on my field, I knew about him in psychology class and he is Max Horkheimer.  Actually I don´t admire him, he's obviously an intelligent person, but I don´t know much about him or his work as to say that.

However, I going to write a little about him. Horkheimer was born in Germany on 1895 in a Jewish family. He was a philosopher and sociologist, and in 1930 he became part of Frankfurt school. He is known because of his work on critical theory of this school. In Frankfurt he met Theodor Adorno and together write “The Dialectic of Enlightenment” (1947), one of their most important works. Another of his most important work was “The Eclipse of Reason” (1947) and “Between Philosophy and Social Science" (1930–1938).

He died in Nuremberg on 1973, but he left a legacy, the critical theory, and according to Larry Ray it has "become one of the most influential social theories of the twentieth century”.

My vacations on summer 2015

I have been saving money for a year to carry out an organized plan with my friends. The aim was to travel outside Chile to go to Bolivia. To achieve this, I worked at a chocolate store for a few months, then I had to quit to prepare myself for the PSU. After taking the PSU , I started working on a personal venture with a friend. The business consisted in selling mineral water bottles, however, just minutes before making the trip there was a problem, hence the trip was canceled.

 Since we didn’t go to Bolivia we decided to invest the money to make a trip within the country, which is less expensive and closer to home, with the idea to have ​​fun as well. For that, we went many times to the beach; first we went to Algarrobo with school friends; Then, Valparaiso with other friends and I finally went to the south, specifically to the island of Chiloe, trip that I made with my dad and my little sister.

I do not regret not going to Bolivia, because I enjoyed every trip I had, both with friends and with my family.

Hi friends, today i going to talk about this photo, I don’t know who took it, because I took it from internet and I think it was created on a computer program, but the picture represent something I would like to do and is travel around the world.

The photo shows a world map and the flags of every country and I chose it because I would like to know every country of this map. First of all I would like to travel around Latin America and then go to the rest. It has always been my dream, so that’s why I chose this picture. But in this time it is very difficult to realize my dream.

Sociologist as an Artist.

Hi again. Today I going to talk about a topic: The Sociologist as an Artist.

I think that a sociologist is not just a scientist, is also an artist because when they have to investigate something they don´t have to put facts or statistics previously made on a paper, it is more than that, they have to create, have to use their own ideas to analyze something that is already done or something they will do.

Other thing that I think is that the work of a sociologist is not static, I mean that they don’t have to keep just with the information, they have to think and with that renovate or create something new. And that’s why I think that a sociologist is an artist and not just a scientist.  

Well that's my perspective, it is not the true, maybe you think different. So I would like to know what do you think about this topic.
